Washington, D.C. — Cellar Door: Having seen this act only twice, and both times at recent conventions, I was totally unprepared for the charismatic effect of this performer, when placed in the intimate and friendly surroundings of this famous East Coast club. As opening act for Danny O'Keefe who seems to have a strong D.C. following in his own right, Dirk Hamilton and his band were just plain impressive. The man has an instant style which carries his act by itself, and/or in combination with the broadness of his music and lyrics, and the strength of his band. This style is one which will be around for some time, and I, for one, look forward to it's development.
